Our Mission

Providence Bible Church is a nondenominational church whose mission is to teach the Bible, reveal Jesus, and make disciples.  We believe by knowing Him and making Him known, lives can be transformed by the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ, whose life was the ultimate providence of God afforded to a fallen world who could not, and cannot, save itself. Our Statement of Faith below outlines our core doctrinal beliefs based on the infallible Word of God.

We Believe

We believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is the authoritative revelation to mankind.
 2 Peter 1:20–21
 Psalm 19:7–11
 Romans 10:17
 2 Timothy 3:16–17

We believe there is one sovereign God who providentially rules over all. He is one God existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are one God.
 Deuteronomy 6:4
 1 Timothy 2:5
 2 Corinthians 13:14

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who became flesh and lived a perfect and sinless life on the earth. He died on the cross in our place and is the propitiation for our sins. He is the only one who can reconcile us to God. He rose from the grave, is alive, and reigns in heaven.
John 1:14
1 John 2:2
Psalm 103:19

We believe God created Adam and Eve without sin, in perfect fellowship with Him. They chose to sin in disobedience to God. Their sin brought judgment, suffering, separation from Him, and suffering and death upon themselves and their descendants.
Genesis 1:26–28
Genesis 3
Psalm 14:1–3
Romans 8:20–22

We believe all people are born in sin. In order to be forgiven of our sins, we must believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and repent of our sins, at which point we leave our former life and seek to live a holy and acceptable life unto the Lord. The blood of Jesus Christ is the only thing that can wash our sins away. Once forgiven, our sins are never remembered again.
Romans 5:8-10
Romans 10:9-10
Romans 12:1
Hebrews 8:12

We believe baptism is for believers and is a public statement of faith in Christ and obedience to His command to be baptized.  It is a symbolic display of our old nature being buried and our resurrection as a new creation in Christ Jesus.  Baptism identifies the believer as a follower of Jesus Christ and is best represented by immersion in water.
Romans 6:3-4
Acts 8:36-39
Colossians 2:12

We believe God created the family as the foundation of society, and that marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman with a lifelong commitment. This is not merely a longstanding tradition, but God’s design from the beginning. A holy marriage reflects the relationship between Christ and His Church. We believe children are a gift from God and are fully human at the time of conception.
Genesis 1:27–28
1 Corinthians 7:1–5
Matthew 19:4–6
Psalm 127:3

We believe Jesus Christ established His Church and is the head of the Church. The Church includes believers from its beginning at Pentecost until the return of Christ. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the work of Christ is carried out in the world. The purpose of the Church is to preach the Gospel and to make disciples.
Acts 2
John 15:26
Acts 1:8

We believe the rapture of the Church is the next event on God’s calendar. Nothing else must happen before the rapture takes place. No one knows the day or the hour, but until that day, we will continue to operate and function as the Church as God intended.
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
John 14:2–3
1 Thessalonians 5:4–6
Matthew 24:36
